Who this guide is for
This guide is for Salesforce admins who are installing Payloads in a Salesforce org for the first time.
Before you begin
Before you start, make sure you are logged in with a Salesforce user that can install managed packages and assign permission sets. You will also need your Payloads install link from the Payloads website or AppExchange listing.
The install link used in this walkthrough is: https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04tfo000001FhNRAA0
Installing the package
Open the install link and sign in
Open the install URL and sign in to the Salesforce org where you want Payloads installed. If everything is correct, Salesforce will route you to the package installation screen.
If you're installing in a sandbox, change the `login` part of the install URL to `test`.
Choose access and start the install
On the Install Payloads screen, set access to Install for All Users. After that, tick the acknowledgement checkbox and click Install to begin.
If Salesforce says installation is taking longer
You may see a message saying the app is taking a long time to install. This is normal for some orgs. Click **Done** and wait for Salesforce to finish the background install. Salesforce will send an email when it completes.
Confirm Payloads appears in Installed Packages
Open Setup, then go to Installed Packages. When installation has completed successfully, you will see Payloads in the package list.
Assign user permissions
Open Permission Sets
In Setup, search for Permission Sets and open that page.
Open the Payloads Admin permission set
Find and open Payloads Admin, then choose Manage Assignments and click Add Assignment.
Assign access to the right users
Select the users who should be able to work in Payloads, then click **Assign**. In most teams this includes system admins and any users who will be building or maintaining integrations.
Launching Payloads
Verify the app is available in App Launcher
Open the App Launcher, search for Payloads, and open the app.
Confirm you land on Integrations
After opening the app, you should land on the Integrations view. That confirms users can access Payloads and you are ready to start building integrations.
What “done” looks like
Your installation is complete when Payloads appears in Installed Packages, the correct users are assigned to Payloads Admin, and Payloads appears in the App Launcher.
